Well, the calendar rolled around to 2017, and we decided gardening was worth expanding the footprint. Doubling it, to be exact. We had the veggie patch expanded to 25 feet from the original 12, and I went seed happy again on orders.
The garden did ridiculously well again for us, with the tomato patch growing wild and the three-sisters deal going for the corn. In fact, we planted 13 varieties of tomato that year, and loved every one!
The squash did insane things, the one in the picture was massive. Tom had been playing Dr. Moreau and crossed what we were growing to get this thing; I just used up the last of that seed from it in 2024 but unfortunately didn’t get them planted in the garden in time to save them. I guess he has to be the mad scientist again…
